Pyrite Parachute is very excited to finally be able to announce that we will be playing the main stage on Saturday, October 3rd, 2015 at The Cuko Rakko Music & Arts Festival! We will be joining a fantastic lineup of some of the best jam bands in the south for a weekend of camping, music and art in one of the most breathtaking places anywhere.
The band will be offering special ticket prices for fans to get to the festival, so stay tuned on Facebook and Twitter for your chance to win some passes!
From the official festival site:
CukoRakko is the Creek Indian word for ceremonial ground, stompground, big house and dance ground. This perfectly describes the phenomenal energy that can be felt at this historic outdoor nature park. Horse Pens 40 is a natural wonderland of unique rock formations nestled atop Chandler Mountain in the foothills of the Appalachians. Located on top of the third highest mountain in Alabama, the stone formations here are said to be among the oldest naturally exposed stones in the world, dating from 600 million to 1.3 billion years old. This sacred ground has a vivid history. Don’t miss this opportunity to visit this incredible natural amphitheater.
Some of the band’s most prominent memories have been made in Huntsville, Alabama. From a bass player having a heat stroke on stage (for real, that was rough) to having JoJo Hermann stand in with the band on a song he wrote (for real, that was awesome), Huntsville has never failed to show the love.
You can imagine how excited the band is to get back to one of their favorite towns! This show is going to be at Humphrey’s Bar and Grill, which is downtown. If you haven’t been before, it’s an amazing venue with a fantastic outdoor stage and courtyard and a cab stand across the street. The band will be playing a rare 3.5+ hour set, so plan to come early and stay late with as many friends as you can find!
Below you’ll find the official flyer for the show. Feel free to grab it, print it, share it and plaster it!
